The primary objective of this Project was to develop improved varieties of Jack Pine and White & Black Spruce with enhanced growth, timber quality, and climatic & pest hardiness for Northeast Alberta.

Supplementary & complementary objectives include contributing to the development of a Jack Pine Seed Orchard, White & Black Spruce Seed Orchards, and site maintenance costs at the Hangingstone & Wandering River Genetics Experimental Areas.

The activities associated with this Project were carried out over the period of Spring 2001 to the Fall of 2002.

Results are detailed in three Annual Reports identified as follows: "File Report ATISC 01-15", dated April 2001", "Final Report ATISC 02-03", dated March 2002, and "Final Report ATISC 03-04", dated April 2003.
