Object & Deliverables

The primary purpose of this Project was the improvement and addition of fish habitat in South Racehorse Creek.

The principal objective of the Project was the creation of an additional 1.5 km of potential fish habitat.

The main activity was the replacement of a “hanging culvert” that was proving an impediment to the movement of game fish up and down the stream.

Final Report

The results were positive, a gravelly bottom was established in the culvert, siltation was minimal and the improvements provided a good resting pool below the culvert. Subsequent upstream testing revealed a healthy population of trout that had re-established itself.
