Object & Deliverables
The principal objective of this Project was to regenerate Fires 20 & 21 [approximately 56.1 hectares] to lodgepole pine and white spruce, respectively.
During August of 2002, Fire # 21 was directly planted with 35,895 white spruce seedlings.
During 2003 the fire-killed trees in Fire # 20 were piled [windrowed], the windrows burned and the area planted with 49,170 lodgepole pine seedlings. Additionally in 2003, Fire # 21 was aerially sprayed with herbicide to manage vegetative competition.
In 2005, both fire areas were aerially assessed for followup treatment requirements.
