The primary goal of this Project was to achieve better estimates of volume and a greater understanding of successional dynamics of the forest within Forest Management F-23 in northwestern Alberta.
Project objectives included improving volume estimates through provision of tree measurement data; and contributing to improved site productivity estimates & increased understanding of stand succession throughout the Forest Management Unit.
Throughout the field seasons of 2002 and 2003, thirty Permanent Sample Plots were established throughout Forest Management Unit F-23.
Results of the Project are summarized in a six-page report entitled "Permanent Sample Plot (PSP) Program – Forest Management Units F4/F6", prepared by Timberline Forest Inventory Consultants Ltd., and dated January 30th, 2004.
