As its principal objective, this Project’s intent was to reduce inter-species competition to established conifer regeneration through the application of a basal herbicide [Triclopyr].

The basal spray application was carried out in the latter part of May 2004. In all 5 Cutblocks were treated and comprised 127.2 hectares in total. Direct costs [applicator, herbicide, vehicle rent & fuel, and supervisory costs] amounted to $506.97 per hectare.

Project results are summarized in a brief six page report entitled "Basal Project 2004", prepared by Steve Blanton, and dated May 2005.
