Object & Deliverables

In order to mitigate the potential damage caused by the Mountain Pine Beetle to Alberta’s forests, it is critical to avoid harvesting non-pine species at all costs. Identification of spruce in a stand identified as “pine” is often difficult, especially since the current forest inventory does not have this kind of detail.

This project is to provide ongoing Support for MPB-12-016 project lead by ANC to continue with Phase 2 to develop critical forest inventory information to address MPB outbreaks
