Object & Deliverables

The goal of the project was to provide a secure source of high quality seed and propagation material that will product trees with fast growth , resilience with respect to insects and disease, good form, and undiminished wood quality. Each CPP program has a series of progeny test sites established to monitor families’ growth and survival as well as other traits of interest. Every 5 years each test series is measured and data compared to previous measurement results. In 2019 each test series was measured for the height, diameter and survival (status) and condition code.

 

Final Report

 

The final report was submitted by ANC December 16, 2021.Test results will assist managers in further roguing of the orchard. This should eventually result in an increase in height gain and the ability to select for desirable traits.
