The objective of this project was to test the potential for Natural Range of Variation (NRV) metrics to be used as a planning foundation across a substantial area. The site chosen for the demonstration project was an area approximately 70,000 hectares in size spanning equal parts of the Hinton Wood Products and Alberta Newsprint Company Forest Management Agreement areas, the Foothills Forest Products quota area, as well as a portion of the Willmore Wilderness Park area. 14 unique projects were developed for the public and forest managers. These project updates are included in the final report entitled, “Large-Scale Natural Disturbance Demonstration Area”, December 2006 prepared by Dr. David W. Andison.
