Objectives were to remove pine ingress from the first pass 30 m spruce buffers where second pass openings were harvested to eliminate the spread of dwarf mistletoe. Natural pine ingress along roadways was also removed. The removal of pine ingress together with planting a spruce 30 m buffer on all harvest passes will remove the dwarf mistletoe presence from harvested openings allowing a forest to regenerate free of the infectious disease.
