The overall goal of this Project was to improve operational, strategic & management planning in and for the area.

It’s principal objective was to provide a current forest classification done to Alberta Vegetation Inventory (AVI)
specifications in digital format for Forest Management Unit P1North.

The AVI classification and field work began in June 2003 and was completed in September of that year. Final digital load, digital processing, and ASRD – Resource Data Division auditing was completed in April 2004.

Final results are summarized in a five page document entitled "Alberta Vegetation Inventory (AVI) For: Forest Management Unit P1N", prepared by Messrs. Untergasser & Tanquay, and dated July 2004.
