The purpose/objective of this Project was the aerial assessment of previously conifer restocked cutblocks to determine their free-to-grow status, from which follow-up management strategies could be devised.
During the Spring of 1999, approximately 11,199 hectares (324 cutblocks) were aerially surveyed – the information collected will be used to assess the current condition of the stands and prescribe treatments for those areas in need of remedial silviculture.
