The primary objective of this project was to measure the effect of herbicide treatment on the survival and growth response of crop trees. The survival and growth response of crop trees in treated areas was compared with crop trees in non-treated areas. All treated areas received the same application rate. The blocks were chosen using photo interpretation, reconnaissance and field assessments as well as consultation with the forestry and environmental protection departments of the Alberta government. The information gathered was used to enhance the timber resource and improve forest management.
