The purpose of this Project was to increase the understanding of woodland caribou habitat selection in the Caribou Mountains, Red Earth and Chinchaga (also known as Pedigree) woodland caribou winter ranges.
The objective of this Project was to use radio collaring and aerial relocation, combined with ground back tracking to determine woodland caribou habitat requirements within the ecoregions of northwestern Alberta.
This Project was completed in cooperation with the North West Standing Committee for Caribou (NWSCC). The results from this Project are summarized in the report "Forest Resource Improvement Program Caribou Project" completed by Eco- Tec Environmental Services and Daishowa-Marubeni International Ltd. This Project was completed in conjunction with HLFP-01-004.
