Object & Deliverables

 

The primary purpose of this Project was the development and utilization of regionally adapted genetically superior variety of trees for reforestation.

Project objectives included production of genetically improved white spruce seed/seedlings and participation in the development of a white spruce breeding program of sufficient quality so as to allow for more advanced breeding in the future.

 

Final Report

During the relatively short tenure of this Project, work activity/accomplishment was rather limited and included participation in the development of Region “G2” Breeding Program; development of the Region “H” Breeding, Gene Conservation & Research Plan; and funding in support of the University of Alberta Study – “Development of Microsatellite Markers in White Spruce”.
