Object & Deliverables
The objectives of this project were to survey and record the current relative abundance and geographical distribution of each breeding bird species in Alberta. The data collection was coordinated, providing a scientifically valid snapshot of populations.
“The Atlas of Breeding Birds of Alberta: A Second Look” was produced in May 2007 and was the result of 1,500 volunteers spending over 45,000 hours generating over 470,000 records. The final report is entitled, “Project SUNDAN-01-36 Federation of Alberta Naturalists: Atlas of Breeding Birds – Final Report” July 2008, prepared by Pat Golec.
