The purpose of this Project was to improve growth rates in young forest stands and recover volume that would normally succumb to intraspecific competition.

The specific objective of this Project was to produce thinning plans that optimize stand growth and volume recovery while minimizing risks from windthrow.

Crop plans and prescriptions were completed for candidate stands in Forest Management Units W9 and S2. All work for this Project was completed between June 1995 and December 1997.
