The primary purpose of this Project was to improve the public’s understanding of the importance of natural resource industries in the greater Hinton area.

Its objectives included promotion of a greater awareness of the vital role natural resource utilization plays in the environment, the local economy & people’s lives in general; and educating the public regarding sustainable development of natural resources.

Over a two – year period an 11 hectare Interpretive Park was constructed within the town limits of Hinton, c/w trails, signs, picnic areas, an arboretum, etc.
