Project Status: | Completed |
Object & Deliverables
This project was to monitor seedling performance on significantly compacted soils. Persistence of soil compaction following forest harvesting is an important factor when considering its impact on forest productivity and other ecological processes.
Sites were established and soil bulk density was measured on a regular basis after harvesting.
Final Report
A paper , “Changes the Values of Bulk Density Over 7 Years Following Forest Harvesting In Alberta, Canada” describing changes in bulk density at 9 of the first 10 sites that were harvested, was prepared by D.H.McNabb of ForestSoil Science Ltd.
