Object & Deliverables

The primary goal of this project was the development of new regeneration standards linked to forest management plan yield predictions for a number of mixedwood management treatments as defined in a previous pilot study in FMU L1.
Specific project objectives included: quantifying juvenile stand development trajectories for which the mixedwood management interventions were designed to emulate; link mixedwood management yield curves to appropriate juvenile stand development trajectories; use juvenile stand development trajectory attributes as targets to establish Model II Regeneration Standards for mixedwood management treatments; and test timber volume growth projections based on proposed regenerations standards.

Final Report

The activities associated with data compilation, analyses, regeneration standards development, and standards testing took place over the period January 2002 to June 2006 inclusive.
Project results are contained in a thirty-five page report entitled “First Approximation Alternative Regeneration Standards for the AL-Pac FMA” prepared by the Forestry Corp dated June 2006.
