Object & Deliverables

Huestis Demonstration Forest Education Project with Inside education, ESRD,ANC & BRL partners provides local school students, teachers and parents hands on learning experiences with forest practices in Alberta.

Goals:

• to create a field-based learning opportunity that enhanced classroom experience and was relevant to the requirements of the Alberta school curriculum
• provide a professionally -led , outdoor education program that exposes students and teachers to a wide range of forest values
• increase awareness of the multiple uses of Alberta forests, and understanding of integrated land management  and sustainable forest management concepts; and
• promote stewardship and enhance knowledge of forest ecosystems

Final Report

The final report was submitted November 2014. The HDH Education plan has been successful in meeting targets and staying within budget.
