Object & Deliverables
This Project’s primary purpose was the provision of a detailed ecological classification at the ecosection and ecosite phase levels for the greater Hines Creek area in Alberta’s Peace River Country.
Objectives included development of a spatially explicit land classification GIS-based model; stratification of complex landscapes into ecologically based units – ecosection, ecosite and ecosite phase; the mapping of same; and the collection of site index and regeneration data.
Final Report
Over the period of July 1999 to December 2002, the entire Project was completed including acquisition & processing/loading of existing data, ground truthing, model refinement and ecosection/ecosite mapping.
The Project deliverables are contained in a comprehensive report c/w maps entitled “Ecosite and Ecosection Classification of the Hines Creek Operating Area” and dated December 2000.
