Object & Deliverables
The primary goal of this project was to determine the viability of using Compact Airborne Spectroscopic Imager (casi), a multispectral airborne pushbroom imaging spectrograph, for identifying the extent of dwarf mistletoe infection in lodgepole pine forests. This overarching objective was accomplished through the completion of six phases:
- Identification of lodgepole pine using casi data
- Assessment of lodgepole pine identification accuracy
- Identification of spectral indicators of dwarf mistletoe on lodgepole pine
- Identification of dwarf mistletoe infection areas
- Assessment of infection area identification accuracy
- Provision of an easily incorporable and efficient process for acquiring dwarf mistletoe data to be entered into the Decision Support System
