The Project mapped streams not shown on current base maps and conducted an inventory of fish and aquatic habitat. There were four main objectives: to determine fish species presence, relative abundance and distribution in watersheds of the R2 FMU, to provide a detailed description of fish habitat within the sampled waters utilising the protocol developed by the Alberta Conservation Authority, to identify critical sportfish habitat for spawning, rearing and overwintering within the sampled waters, and to identify watercourse sensitivities from a fisheries perspective.
