The objective of the density management Project was to create well spaced and efficiently growing stands. Monitor plots were established within the treatment units. The density management objectives were set individually for each block, on many of these blocks both coniferous and deciduous crop trees are acceptable so the objectives had to be established clearly and a field evaluation of the present condition of the trees needed to be completed in advance.
