The principal objective of this Project was to compare timber supply results and the forecasted landscapes from two separate strategic level analysis tools – "A Landscape Cumulative Effects Simulator" [ALCES] vs. Woodstock/Stanley.

A secondary objective was the examination of the forecasted landscape to understand how the model(s) are handling strata and transitions over time.

The work associated with this Project was carried out over the late Spring and early Summer of 2002.

Results of the Study are contained in a sixty-nine page report entitled "ALCES Timber Supply Validation – Comparsion of ALCES and Woodstock/Stanley", prepared by the Forestry Corp., and dated August 1, 2002.
