Object & Deliverables

The intent of this Project was to provide initial information, which could be used to assist in the future development of a coordinated strategic plan aimed at the maintenance of caribou habitat in the Little Smoky/A La Peche caribou range(s).

Specific objectives include the development of a current habitat assessment for the Little Smoky/A La Peche and the combined caribou range based on the Boreal Caribou Committee (BCC) planning tool; and the development of a habitat assessment and forecast for the Little Smoky/A La Peche and the combined caribou range based on vegetation characteristics and pattern as predicted by timber harvest sequencing.

Data preparation, data analysis & mapping, and report preparation were completed over the period of January 2004 to March 2005 inclusive.
