Object & Deliverables
The purpose of the project included the following:
- Complete the imagery acquisition for all areas in FMU F23 not captured in 2016 before project was delayed
- Achieve aerial photography for the entire FMU F23
- Complete all required phases for a full AVI achievement in Compartment 1 in FMU F23
- Complete an enhanced AVI for townships located north of Peace River (1/3 of FMU F23)
Final Report
The work for this project was completed by Greenlink Forestry, and summarized in the Final Technical reports from Askee Development Corporation Alberta.
Actual results include completion of all requirements outlined in the Forest Resource Improvement Program (FRIP) Project agreement for the delivery of an updated Alberta Vegetation Inventory with enhanced understorey (AVI) in FMU F23.
Compartment 1 AVI in FMU F23 was approved December 1, 2020 by the Government of Alberta, Agriculture and Forestry Division (AAF) and can now be used for forest management and operational planning.
Compartment 2 AVI in FMU F23 was submitted to AAF on May3, 2021 and subsequently approved.
In total, the project delivered a precise and usable AVI for F23 in 65 townships of the 105 townships that comprise the FMU F23.
