Final Report

The report provided a summary and bibliography of wildlife resources in the Edson FMA. Information was sourced from a variety of government departments and libraries including: Alberta Environment — Natural Resources Services, Commercial licensing — Natural Resources Services, Alberta Environmental Protection library, Alberta Research Council library, and the NOVA Environmental library. Most information is up to date to 1997 or 2000 and was summarized from comprehensive wildlife surveys. This includes surveys on birds from the Alberta Breeding Bird Survey, elk and moose from random aerial surveys, and carnivores and furbearers from trapline surveys. A complete listing of all planning documents, surveys, and other references is included in the bibliography for this project.

The final report was submitted by Beth McCallum, Berni Goski and Barry Godsalve of Bighorn Environmental Design Ltd. entitled, “A Review of Available Information on Wildlife for Weyerhaeuser’s Edson FMA, July 2000.”
