Project Code: MW-01-081
Area:Inventory and Planning
Sponsor:Millar Western Forest

The primary purpose of this Project was to measure aquatic habitat variables in small streams within portions of several sub-watersheds in west-central Alberta, and relate them to the distribution and abundance of fish.

Project objectives included determining the spring and summer distribution & relative abundance of fish in selected small streams, and the re-sampling of index sites for changes in the state of the aquatic habitat & fish density/distribution over time.

During the Summer and Fall of 2003, twenty-two Sample Sites were completed in Pass Creek and nine different Index Sites were re-sampled in seven separate drainages.

Project results are contained in two different reports, namely –

* Edson and Area Co-operative Fisheries Inventory Project 2003/2004 Annual Report, prepared by Corey Rasmussen& Craig Johnson, and dated December 2003; and

* Northeast Slopes Fish Population Monitoring Data Report for 2002/2003 and 2003/2004, prepared by Corey Rasmussen, Craig Johnson & Mike Blackburn, and dated 2004.
