Object & Deliverables

 

Location and monitoring of Bull Trout spawning streams within the Oldman River System of southwestern Alberta was the primary purpose of this Project.

It’s objectives included determination of the distribution and characteristics of Bull Trout spawning sites (redds) and the establishment of spawning frequency indexes to serve as a basis for calculating population trends.

Final Report

Spawning site (redd) surveys were conducted from 1994 to 1998 on the tributaries of the Oldman River in southwestern Alberta.

A significant increase of “redds” was observed on index sections of North Lost Creek, Mill Creek, North Racehorse Creek
