This project was designed to collect information on the present stage of development on a series of old cutblocks in the Drayton Valley and Edson FMAs. This information allows cutblocks to be assigned to an appropriate yield class regarding stand composition and stand development. The blocks were initially stratified according to several different criteria such as hardwood or softwood, harvest date, location, proximity to a grazing lease, etc. A total of 219 blocks were surveyed in the Drayton Valley FMA and 25 audited for quality control. In the Edson FMA, 212 blocks were surveyed and 49 audited for quality control. The final report was entitled, “Final Report-Regenerated Cutblock Assessments, WEYDV-02-047”, submitted by Wendy Crosina, March 2000.
