The primary objective of this Project was to annually aerate Millers Lake to prevent the winterkill of stocked rainbow trout.
Supplementary objectives include the payment of annual electricity costs, supply of materials to construct safety fencing, and the provision of manpower to annually setup and remove the fencing.
Support for this Project occurred over the period of September 1998 to and including August 2003 – a total of five years.
The Project results are summarized in a seven page report entitled "Miller Lake Mechanical Surface Aeration Project", prepared by Martin Hemsley, and dated November 27th, 2003.
Joint partnerships included Trout Unlimited, Alberta Conservation Association, and the Alberta Department of Sustainable Resource Development.
