Object & Deliverables

The objective of this program was to collect data so the development of juvenile site index relationships could be completed by Lands and Forest Service. The development of this relationship impacted future yield table development and annual allowable cut calculations.

To accomplish the above objective, crews visited randomly selected pine stands within Sunpine’s FMA and collected stem distribution data using fixed area plots and internodal growth information by splitting selected trees longitudinally and counting and measuring pith nodes and distances between nodes.

 

Final Report

Land and Forest Service and Sunpine Forest Products Ltd undertook a co-operative program to collect field data for the development of juvenile site index relationships. Deliverables included: tally sheets, maps with locations and digital files of the plot data.
