NIVMA, a working cooperative, was established in 1989 in response to the need for a robust establishment of a silviculture monitoring system. The membership consists of 18 forestry companies. Each company must establish a certain number of plots based on their land base. In 1998, this project established and re-measured 29 plots. The final report was developed by Wally Rude in May 1999.
