Object & Deliverables
The Ecological Site Classification of the Slave Lake FMA serves as a template for future planning needs at levels of resolution ranging from stand level planning to landscape level and biodiversity issues. The ecosite map of Weyerhaeuser’s Slave Lake FMA provides a biological and ecological framework for land management. By integrating abiotic and biotic components on one map, basic information on the distribution of ecosystems and management interpretations can be developed. Data from 1432 ecological plots was used to drive the Ecosite model.
The final report was submitted in 2003 by West Sky Resource Consultants Ltd, entitled, “Predictive Ecosite Model of Weyerhaeuser’s Slave Lake FMA”.
