A volume sampling program and collection of ecological data at all plot locations was carried out within Weyerhaeuser’s FMU W6. The objectives were to collect field data (ecological classification) to be used in calibration of E.L.C. mapping model. Data from 230 plots were completed and included information about slope position, nutrient regime, moisture regime, parent material, drainage class, humus form, presence of organic soils, and soil texture. The sites were classified to plant community level. This data is stored at the Edson Woodlands Office. The final report was submitted by Dave Kent in November 1998, entitled “Final Report for FRIP project WEVDV-02-039, Ecological Assessments (‘A’ Density Deciduous Stands (W6))”.
