Object & Deliverables
Improvement of the Forest
- To determine the health and vigor of each previously thinned stand.
- T determine the next steps needed to take to maintain a healthy vigorous forest.
- To provide direct employment opportunities to Albertans by using local contractors for all sub-contracted work.
- To determine where there are opportunities to enhance the productivity of the forest landbase.
Obligations
The legal reforestation obligations have been met on these cutblocks and the treatments fall outside of our legislated responsibilities. Therefore, this project should be eligible for Forest Resource Improvement Project funding.
Final Report
The final report was submitted April 14, 2021. All project outcomes, including provision of employment to Albertans, were accomplished.
