The intent of this Project was to support publication of a book capturing the lifestyles, culture, geographic challenges, and natural environment that constituted the lives of the Cree, Chipewyan, Dogrib, Dene and Metis peoples in northwest Canada.
This Project was the culmination of over 50 years of cultural memory and living tradition, research and documentation by Terry Garvin with the aboriginal individuals, families and communities of the Boreal Forest.
The Project results are contained in a 239 page book [hard and soft cover editions] entitled "Carving Faces, Carving Lives: People of the Boreal Forest", written by Terry Garvin, and dated circa 2005.
