The goal of this Project was to develop and disseminate an educational land use simulator to foster awareness of integrated resource management opportunities in Alberta.
Specific Project objectives included developing world-class simulation software to teach Alberta integrated resource management concepts, implementing this software in Alberta junior and senior high schools, and achieving annual use by at least 25,000 people.
Over the period of January 2004 to August 2006 inclusive the following "deliverables" were developed –
* a web-based educational land use simultator,
* teacher guides aimed at Grades 7, 9 & 11,
* webpages providing descriptions of real Alberta Integrated Resource Management solutions, and
* a promotional video available on-line.
Project results are summarized in a five page report entitled "End of Project Technical Report to the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta", prepared by Matt Carlson, and dated August 2006.
