The primary purpose of this Project was the assumption of responsibility for campground & trail maintenance/enhancement for a number of facilities previously managed by the Government of Alberta in the greater Hinton area.
Its objectives included updating Action Plans, maintaining existing facilities, upgrading of several campgrounds and trails, construction of one new interpretive trail , and completion of current year recreation surveys & inventories.
During late Spring, Summer, and early Fall of 2002, a three-year Recreation Action Plan was updated for the years 2003 to 2005 inclusive, twenty-one Recreation Sites were maintained, two trails at Emerson Lakes and Wild Sculpture received major upgrades, and the Gregg Cabin Day Use Area was converted into a Campground.
Additionally, a Recreation User Survey was completed for a number of Campgrounds managed under the Program.
