Object & Deliverables
This Project’s purpose is an on-site assessment of regenerated cutblocks to ascertain necessity for juvenile spacing or cleaning.
Project objectives include provision of density, stocking, competition, damage and disease, height and diameter information; and utilization of this data to develop silvicultural prescriptions with an aim to eventually meet free-to-grow status.
This Project completed pre-treatment assessments in 1998 on 4,552 hectares of regenerated cutblocks. Stands considered for eventual treatment will be those with densities exceeding 4,000 stems per hectare.
